Indianapolis Colts receiver Reece Fountain suffered a fractured and dislocated left ankle Thursday during a joint practice against the Cleveland Browns at Westfield’s Grand Park, IndyStar’s Joel Erickson confirmed.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport had the initial report.

After practice, Colts coach Frank Reich called the injury “significant” and that he was taken to a hospital.

Reich and teammates surrounded Fountain as he lay on the field for several minutes. His leg was immobilized before he was taken off the field on a cart.

He likely will undergo surgery soon.

Fountain was a fifth-round pick by the Colts in the 2018 NFL draft.
