Frank Vogel is officially the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 45-year-old is taking over a team that, despite adding LeBron James last summer, missed out on the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. He’s replacing Luke Walton, who parted ways with the organization in April after three consecutive losing seasons.
Vogel is a proven head coach with a career record of 304-291 after stints with the Indiana Pacers (2010-16) and Orlando Magic (2016-18), but make no mistake: He has a tall task at hand.
