USA TODAY Sports’ Kevin Allen breaks down who will have the biggest impact as the Bruins and Blues prepare for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The St. Louis Blues’ bid to complete a remarkable comeback from last place on Jan. 2 to Stanley Cup champion was disrupted by the Boston Bruins’ 5-1 rout in Game 6.
Now the NHL championship will come down to one game when the Bruins host the Blues in Game 7.
This is the NHL’s first Game 7 in the championship series since 2011, and the Bruins also were a part of that. Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Zdeno Chara and David Krejci played in that 4-0 victory in Vancouver, and goalie Tuukka Rask backed up Tim Thomas. Bergeron and Marchand each scored twice in the game.
If the Blues win, it would be their first NHL title. The Bruins would win their seventh.
