NY Jets: 3 potential candidates to replace fired GM Mike Maccagnan

The Jets made a stunning decision Wednesday to fire general manager Mike Maccagnan, and soon after the attention turns to who might be next.

Here’s a look at three candidates who could be in consideration for the gig to work with head coach Adam Gase, named interim GM by ownership:

Joe Douglas

Billed as a scout’s scout, Douglas has worked his way up from an entry level position with the Baltimore Ravens. His name has been linked to the Jets, in part due to a prior relationship with Gase in Chicago, since rumors of Maccagnan’s exit first surfaced during the NFL Draft.

The former offensive lineman from Richmond is Howie Roseman’s right hand man with the Eagles, and is considered to have had a big impact on helping build the roster that delivered Philadelphia its first Super Bowl title two years ago.
