Joe Douglas lays out impressive plan for how he'll turn Jets into a contender

FLORHAM PARK — It didn’t take long Tuesday to see why the Jets believe Joe Douglas is the guy who can finally turn their franchise around. 

Within minutes of being introduced as the Jets’ next general manager, Douglas showed that he’s more than just an impressive résumé. The 42-year-old confidently laid out a clear vision for the Jets’ future, and went into detail about how he plans to lead them there. 

“We’re going to find passionate people that love the game of football, that hate losing more than they love winning,” Douglas said. “That love to prepare, that love to practice, that love to compete. Players that are football-smart, they’re strategic thinkers that aren’t going to beat themselves.
